I just launched a site using Papervision3D 2.0

I just finished developing a site for the book “Night of the Gun” written by New York Times writer David Carr. You can see the site here http://www.nightofthegun.com.

Night of the Gun

I developed the site in ActionScript 3.0 using Papervision3D 2.0 (Great White).

    Beautiful work, compelling subject.

    Nice work.

I’m in the process of developing a project with great white. It similarly involves an arrangement of Planes, with high-rez material & low-rez material(s). I noticed the GW project code changes every couple of weeks, so I’ve sort of ‘frozen’ the ppv code, rather than update from the repository (I would update, and some major APIs would break).

Just wondering… Did you have any issues with GC - I’ve noticed that materials of Planes can be garbage collected (e.g., the material Bitmaps+BitmapDatas)- but the sub elements (the Triangles and number3Ds) that make them up don’t seem get collected.

Once I learn as3 I am so moving on to papervision.

I have been struggling to find out how to make my website (launched yesterday) center onload. It is an oversized movie file 1400×700 and I just want to make it horizontally center for the user who might have a small monitor or has their resolution set to anything less than 1024 (h). I would purchase the code if necessary. I could really use the help I started as3 Dec. of 2008 and have been dreaming about bringing this content to the public for five years now. The php programmers that I hired can’t figured it out, though they assured me they could.

Anyway, your work inspires me to reach higher levels of design and development.
